Anti-Aging Treatment/ Fillers

What is the difference between BOTOX ® injections and fillers?

BOTOX ® is used for dynamic wrinkles, which are those lines that appear from repeated facial movements. Muscles are temporarily paralyzed to get fewer wrinkles and creases across the forehead, outer corners of the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the eyebrows. Fillers are useful for static wrinkles. This is a wrinkle that is apparent whether you have repeated facial movements or not. Fillers help provide volume to the lines that occur from your skin losing elasticity and collagen.

BOTOX ® Cosmetic Treatments

BOTOX ® is a neuromodulator that interrupts the communication between the nerve and muscle. It’s injected into the facial muscle responsible for movement and reduces facial expression associated with lines and wrinkles. BOTOX ® is a safe and effective procedure that improves the look of forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines.

BOTOX Preparation

Anti-aging injections are minimally invasive with virtually no discomfort and downtime. There is no preparation for the injections except for a consultation with a provider to discuss history, prior treatments, allergies, medications, concerns, and expectations. A numbing cream may be used if necessary, to relieve any potential discomfort.

BOTOX Recovery

There is no recovery time with BOTOX ® injections. You may return to your normal activities following the treatment. Within days you will notice an improvement in your expression lines that last up to four months.

Derma Fillers for Anti-aging

A derma filler is a product injected beneath the skin that brings volume to the facial fine lines, hydrates the face and skin, and can also be used for wrinkles. The procedure is minimally invasive and can be performed in a safe effective way, for those individuals not ready for cosmetic surgery and want to reduce the signs of aging. Fillers can plump thin lips and restore facial volume and fullness, soften facial creases and wrinkles and improve the appearance of scars.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic Acid is a major component of connective tissue, which is naturally in the face and comes in the form of a gel. As aging occurs, the elasticity of our skin diminishes and loses its volume. Hyaluronic Acid allows new collagen and new elastin to be introduced into the skin allowing the skin to resume its natural shape, rejuvenating the face, lifting cheeks, and filling of lost volume.
